Chrome Web Store review in progress

Install Gazenest on Chrome

One click to install. Future versions install themselves silently in the background. No store, no waiting, no manual updates.

Also works on Brave, Edge, Arc, Opera, and Vivaldi. The steps below are the same: replace chrome://extensions with your browser's equivalent (brave://, edge://, opera://, vivaldi://). Officially tested on Chrome only.

Safe to install.

  • No malware, no virus, no tracking SDK. The signed build is byte-identical to the one submitted to Google for Web Store review. Submission was accepted into the review queue, which means Google's automated scans found no malicious code.
  • Runs only on YouTube. The extension has zero access to any other website you visit. It cannot read your banking, email, or any tab that isn't youtube.com. Verify in chrome://extensions → Details → "Site access".
  • No data sold or shared. Your watch history is stored encrypted in your own account, hosted in the EU. Full export and one-click delete available from your dashboard. See the privacy policy.
  • Uninstall in one click. Remove the extension from chrome://extensions any time. Nothing stays behind on your machine.
Step 1
Download the extension
Version 1.0.74 - signed build
Download .zip

On Windows? You may see "isn't commonly downloaded"

That message is Windows SmartScreen being cautious about a new file from a small site. It is not a virus warning, and nothing is wrong with the download. Here is how to keep the file:

  • Chrome: open the downloads tray (top-right), hover the blocked file, click the menu, then Keep. If asked again, Keep anyway.
  • Edge: click the next to the download, choose Keep, then Show moreKeep anyway.

You do not need to change any Windows security setting. Leave SmartScreen on.

  1. 2

    Unzip the file

Double-click the downloaded .zip. Keep the resulting folder somewhere you will not delete by mistake (for example: ~/Documents/gazenest).

  2. 3

    Open Chrome extensions

Paste this in the address bar:

    chrome://extensions
  3. 4

    Enable Developer mode

Top-right corner of the page. A new row of buttons appears: Load unpacked / Pack extension / Update.

  4. 5

    Click "Load unpacked"

Pick the folder you unzipped in step 2. Gazenest is now active. Open any YouTube page and the floating Gazenest button appears bottom-right.

Got Firefox? The Firefox build auto-updates - one click and you are done. Install on Firefox instead.

Extension installed? Next step: subscribe with the sandbox card

Common questions

Chrome warned me about a "Developer mode extension". Is this safe?
Yes. That banner is Chrome reminding you that an extension was installed outside the Web Store - it has nothing to do with the extension's content. The build you just downloaded is byte-identical to what we submitted to Google for review. Once they approve the listing, you can switch to the store version and the banner disappears.
Will I have to redo this when Chrome Web Store approves you?
You can. The two installs are technically different "extensions" from Chrome's point of view (different IDs). When the store version goes live, we will send a one-time email asking you to install from the store and remove the sideloaded copy. Your account and history travel with the licence, not with the extension folder, so there is nothing to migrate.
How do I check which version I am running?
Open chrome://extensions. The Gazenest card shows the version number under the name. Latest signed build is 1.0.74.
Does it work on Brave, Edge, Arc, Opera, or Vivaldi?
Yes, all five run on the same Chromium engine as Chrome, so the extension loads and works the same way. The only difference is the extensions page URL: use brave://extensions, edge://extensions, opera://extensions, or vivaldi://extensions in place of chrome://extensions. Arc opens chrome://extensions directly. We officially test on Chrome only, so edge cases on other browsers may take longer to fix.
Something is broken. Where do I report it?
Email support@gazenest.com with a screenshot of chrome://extensions (so we know your version) and a description of what you tried.
