AMO-signed, auto-updating

Install Gazenest on Firefox

One click to install. Future versions install themselves silently in the background. No store, no waiting, no manual updates.

Also works on Librewolf, Waterfox, and Zen Browser. The signed .xpi installs the same way. Officially tested on Firefox only.

Safe to install.

  • No malware, no virus, no tracking SDK. Every build is signed by Mozilla after passing their automated review (the same review applied to public AMO listings). Firefox refuses to install anything that does not carry a valid Mozilla signature.
  • Runs only on YouTube. The extension has zero access to any other site you visit. It cannot read your banking, email, or any tab that isn't youtube.com. Verify in about:addons → Gazenest → "Permissions".
  • No data sold or shared. Your watch history is stored encrypted in your own account, hosted in the EU. Full export and one-click delete available from your dashboard. See the privacy policy.
  • Uninstall in one click. Remove the extension from about:addons any time. Nothing stays behind on your machine.

Add to Firefox

Firefox will show a small permissions prompt. Click Add. That is it.

Not in Firefox right now? Open this page from Firefox: https://www.gazenest.com/install/firefox. The install prompt only works when the click happens inside Firefox.

Updates are automatic

Firefox checks our update server roughly once a day and silently installs new versions. You do nothing. Your settings, history sync, and licence stay intact across updates.

Want to force an update check? Open about:addons, click the gear icon top-right, then Check for Updates.

On Chrome? The Chrome Web Store listing is in review. Install the beta on Chrome instead (60-second sideload).

Extension installed? Next step: subscribe with the sandbox card

Head over to the private-beta page to grab the test card number and finish your sign-up. No real money moves during the beta.

Common questions

Why is Gazenest not on addons.mozilla.org?
During private beta we distribute through Mozilla's unlisted channel: every build is signed by Mozilla (same review they apply to public listings), but the extension is not searchable on addons.mozilla.org. This keeps the beta scoped to people we invited. Once we go public, the AMO listing will appear at addons.mozilla.org/.../gazenest and your installed version migrates automatically.
How do I check which version I am running?
Open about:addons, click Gazenest, then the Details tab. The version number is at the top. Latest signed build is 1.0.74.
Does it work on Firefox for Android?
Yes, with the standard caveats of Firefox Android extensions. The desktop experience is the primary target during beta. Mobile YouTube uses a different DOM, so a few features (notably history backfill on m.youtube.com) are limited.
Does it work on Librewolf, Waterfox, or Zen Browser?
Yes. All three are based on Firefox and accept Mozilla-signed extensions, so the .xpi installs and auto-updates normally. We officially test on Firefox desktop only, so edge cases on other browsers may take longer to fix. Pale Moon and Basilisk are not compatible (different engine, different extension format).
Something is broken. Where do I report it?
Email support@gazenest.com with a screenshot of about:addons showing the Gazenest entry (so we know your version) and a description of what you tried.
