Why this matters
Your viewing history is intimate
Your YouTube history reveals:
- Your interests and hobbies
- Your health concerns (if you search for symptoms)
- Your political leanings
- Your entertainment preferences
- Your learning goals
- Your insecurities (if you watch self-help content)
This data is more personal than most people realise. Companies would pay good money for it. We don't sell it because it's not ours to sell.
"Anonymised" data isn't anonymous
Many companies claim they sell only "anonymised" data. But research has repeatedly shown that viewing patterns can be re-identified with surprisingly little information. A few favourite channels and typical viewing times are often enough to identify someone.
We don't anonymise and sell. We don't sell at all.
No incentive misalignment
Companies that make money from data have a perverse incentive: the more you use their product, the more data they collect, the more money they make. This creates pressure to make products addictive.
Gazenest's incentive is the opposite. We make money when you subscribe. You subscribe when the product helps you. We're incentivised to actually improve your YouTube habits - because that's what keeps you paying.

What happens when you leave
If you delete your account:
- Your account is deactivated immediately
- After 30 days, all data is permanently deleted
- This includes: videos, sessions, scores, devices, sync logs
- Encrypted fields are destroyed - the encryption key is deleted
- Nothing remains. No ghost profiles, no "just in case" backups
You can also export everything before deleting - we provide a full data export in your dashboard settings.
No venture capital, no exit pressure
Gazenest is an independent product. We're not backed by venture capital firms expecting a 10x return through data monetisation or an acquisition. There's no board meeting where someone suggests "what if we started showing targeted ads?"
The product is the product. The revenue is subscriptions. That's the whole business model.
